TheTexas Roadhouse restaurant opened in early 2016. They're noted for their free buckets of peanuts and yeast rolls at each customer's table. Most food items are made from scratch. Their menu selection includes steak, ribs, chicken and seafood.

A new Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham opened at The Highlands in late November '15. It's conveniently located behind Cheddar's Casual Cafe (on the right side of Cabela Drive as you start into The Highlands) so it will make for very easy guest access. Newly updated photos of the Hawthorn Suites will be added soon to all the other hotels at The Highlands.

Pittsburgh-based Primanti Bros. opened their new restaurant in mid November '14. The only other Primanti Bros. in West Virginia is in Morgantown so they'll be welcomed by loyal fans and new patrons alike at The Highlands. If you enjoy gigantic servings, you're going to love this place. Their 'Almost Famous' signature sandwich is piled high with meat (salami, turkey or roast beef), crunchy, tart cole slaw and crisp French fries, served on soft Italian bread. The racing decor and laid-back atmosphere offers a great setting to kick back and enjoy what "the Lube" has become noted for... chicken wings! Their sauces are rated in Scoville Heat Units (SHU) with the "Atomic" sauce rated at 150,000 SHU's (made from habanero chile) and sliding all the way down to a much milder Ranch sauce at 90 SHU's.
